**CAS No. 9067-32-7**
**Hyaluronic Acid ULMW (Ultra Low Molecular Weight):**
Micronized and now featuring a molecular weight averaging between 2800 to 4300 Daltons, Hyaluronic Acid ULMW is produced through the bacterial fermentation of plant matter, often involving wheat peptones, yeast, and glucose derived from corn. This process ensures the absence of plant-derived DNA, rendering it vegan and non-GMO. Importantly, the fermentation medium ingredients, including wheat peptone and glucose, are fully exhausted and subsequently removed, making this product gluten-free.
**Production and Upgrade:**
Hyaluronic Acid ULMW undergoes a patented enzymatic degradation process, wherein high molecular weight hyaluronic acid is enzymatically cleaved to produce an exclusive Ultra Low Molecular Weight (ULMW) variant of less than 6,000 Daltons. Micronization further refines the product, enhancing its ability to penetrate the upper layers of the epidermis.
**Hyaluronic Acid (HA):**
A naturally occurring polysaccharide present in all tissues of the body, with highest concentrations in skin, cartilage, and eyes. HA acts as a gel between skin cells, serving as a water reservoir. Aging leads to a decline in skin's hyaluronic acid content, affecting its water retention capacity. Applying new hyaluronic acid may contribute to skin hydration, elevating moisture levels, and reducing age lines.
**Topical Benefits:**
Hyaluronic Acid demonstrates water-storing properties, serving as an ideal swelling agent and lubricant. Its incorporation into cosmetics results in a perceptible and visible improvement in skin condition. Upon application, it forms a thin, transparent, visco-elastic surface film, preserving the characteristics of youthful and healthy skin, including suppleness, elasticity, and tone.
**Usage Information:**
1 gram of Hyaluronic Acid Powder can be used to prepare a 100-gram (3.53 ounces) 1% solution. Unlike regular Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid ULMW does not form a viscous gel in water. For a viscous gel, regular Hyaluronic Acid with a molecular weight of 1.0 - 1.5 Million Daltons is recommended.
**INCI:**
Sodium Hyaluronate.
HOW TO USE
- Hyaluronic Acid ULMW has a tendency to clump when added to water. It can be pre-mixed with glycerin prior to adding to water -- this will prevent agglomeration and create a smooth mixture.
- You can also simply add it to your distilled water, cover it and give it some time to hydrate, then mix well. Depending on the amount used, this make take 15 minutes to an hour or more.
- Unlike Hyaluronic Acid HMW or Hyaluronic Acid LMW, Hyaluronic Acid ULMW will not form a viscous gel. If you want a viscous gel, consider combining both types in your formulation.
