Ferulic acid (FA) is naturally occurring in the leaves and seeds of most plants, with notably elevated levels found in the brans of grasses like rice, wheat, and oats. Its potent antioxidant properties make it a valuable ingredient in the development of anti-aging cosmetics.
Free radicals, chemically reactive molecules generated during normal biochemical processes, pose a threat to biological structures upon production. Cells, particularly in the skin, are susceptible to free radical-induced damage, which manifests as aging.
Ferulic acid excels at neutralizing free radicals, including "superoxide," "hydroxyl radical," and "nitric oxide." It also synergistically enhances the effectiveness of other antioxidants. Notably, Ferulic Acid's antioxidant activity is augmented by exposure to UV light, suggesting its potential in shielding the skin from sun damage.
Our Ferulic Acid is derived naturally from rice bran oil. As a cosmetic raw material, it is exclusively intended for external use in cosmetic formulations. Like all our materials, internal consumption is strongly discouraged.
